LAS VEGAS — Inmate Carl Guilford claims the “devil” convinced him to kill cellmate Francesco Sanfilippo in prison, according to Fox 5.
Sanfilippo was found covered in a white sheet in his cell with blood smeared across the walls and floor of the room on Friday, according to the article.
Corrections officers said Guilford was found sitting on a top bunk with a “blank stare,” according to reports.
Guilford said the devil told him that he needed to kill Sanfilippo or he would make him kill himself.
He claims he didn’t remember what happened after choking the man, but police said the inmate was stabbed several times with a pencil.
Guilford is in jail for the murder of his 6-year-old cousin. He told police after he smothered the boy with a comforter he heard a voice say “well done.”
