OMAHA, Neb. — Corrections worker Jennifer L. Henning is claiming she was unjustly fired for being a diabetic.

According to Omaha.com, Henning was hired in April 2012 after passing a physical and receiving a doctor’s clearance to perform the required duties.

But when she reported for training in Lincoln, her supervisor refused to let her carry an emergency automatic glucose injector.

He also allegedly ridiculed her medical condition in front of other trainees, according to Omaha.com.

Henning experienced a dangerous hypoglycemic event while on the firing range due to not having her glucose injector. She was then fired during the training because her supervisor said she wouldn’t be allowed to carry the injector on the job.
