NEW BOSTON – A memorial service for the correctional officer killed at the Telford Unit is set for this Saturday.
KSLA reports that Timothy Davison, 47, was escorting Billy Joel Tracy, 37, back to his cell when the inmate beat Davison to death.
Davison died from his injuries at a nearby hospital. His body has been sent to Dallas for autopsy, but the results were not made public.

A full review of the incident is by the TDCJ under the supervision of the state’s Inspector General’s Office is expected to get underway this week.
The service will be held July 25 at the First Baptist Church. There is no set visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Timothy Davison Benefit Fund, Guaranty Bond & Trust.
