IONIA, Mich. — A Michigan Reformatory officer was knocked unconscious by a prisoner with a padlock Thursday morning.
MLive reports that the officer was struck in the back of the head sometime before 10 a.m. in the Level 4 housing facility.
The officer regained consciousness on scene but was taken to a hospital for medical evaluation. Other officers responded to the scene to provide support.
The accused inmate has been placed in segregation.
