MIDLAND COUNTY, Mich. — The Midland County Jail in Michigan is receiving national recognition for its training, operations and maintenance programs.
The Midland Daily News reports that the Southern Folger Detection Equipment presented Midland County Sheriff Scott Stephenson with a plaque with two brass keys, commemorating the award of Facility of the Year.
The award is for facilities that go above and beyond in maintenance, training of staff and more, according to Folger Company President Donald Holloran.
A nomination for the award came from a company sales director who visited the jail last year.
“What he saw was great attention to every detail of how the jail was operated,” Holloran said. “We want facilities to take good care of their equipment.”
Southern Folger provides security, including locks and more, for correctional facilities and has been in operation since 1897.
