HUTCHINSON, Kan. – The Kansas Organization of State Employees released new details about the stabbing of a corrections officer at the Hutchinson Correctional Facility.
KWCH reports that the inmate had recently been transferred from Minnesota to the Kansas facility, following an interstate agreement.
He was originally housed at the Lansing Correctional Facility where he was involved in attacks on officers there, earlier in the summer.
In this latest attack, the inmate used a 6-8 inch piece of plexiglass to stab the officer 13 times in the head, elbows, back and hip.
The inmate has already been transferred to the El Dorado Correctional Facility.
