MERCER COUNTY — County freeholders approved a contract for the Mercer County corrections officers last night after more than four years of disagreement over the terms.
The contract was set to be approved by the board in December, but was pulled from the agenda at the last minute because of a disagreement between the union’s attorney and the county over wording in the contract having to do with insurance contributions.
That dispute was resolved this week and the contract was placed on the agenda.
It won unanimous approval by the board at their meeting last night.
