ALBANY, Ore. — A jail deputy performed the Heimlich maneuver on an inmate who was unable to breathe as he choked on a breakfast bar Friday morning.
Sheriff Bruce Riley said Deputy Adam Hedrick saved the life of inmate Chris Anderson.
Riley said the inmate told him he had choked on a breakfast bar and was not able to swallow, cough or breathe - and felt the deputy saved his life.
