Pa. corrections officer killed in DUI crash

A corrections officer riding on a motorcycle was killed after being struck by a vehicle driven by a drunk driver

BEDMINSTER TWP., Pa. — A corrections officer riding on a motorcycle was killed after being struck by a vehicle driven by a drunk driver.

Carl Polichetti and his wife were riding on the motorcycle and were just blocks from their home when Dennis Harold Bennett hit them, according to Levit Town Now. Polichetti was pronounced dead at St. Luke’s Hospital.

The condition of Polichetti’s wife is currently unknown, though friends and family have stated that she is in serious condition at the same hospital.

Polichetti worked as a corrections officer for the Bucks County Department of Corrections.

Bennett is currently being held at Bucks County prison, the same facility Polichetti worked at, on 10 percent of $100,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in cort on August 4.
