WEST GREENWICH, RI — A Rhode Island Department of Corrections captain has been arrested and charged with driving under the influence following a crash last weekend.
WPRI reports that Capt. Paul Bartholomy, 54, rear-ended another car early Sunday morning. He was taken into custody after failing a sobriety test.
Four people in the car Bartholomy allegedly hit were hospitalized with minor injuries.
He was off-duty at the time of the crash, according to a prison spokesperson. He reported his DUI to the Office of Inspections.
He is due in court May 6.
