SAN ANTONIO — The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is holding a job fair next week, and they’re looking for one particular kind of candidate – women who want to work in corrections.
KSAT reports that the Bexar County Jail currently holds 700 female inmates and the population is growing. In response, the jail is hoping to fill correction officer positions with more women.
“There are certain positions that only women can fill in dealing with women inmates,” says Debra Nicholas, Chief Administrative Officer with BCSO.
The job fair is being held next Thursday, July 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and then again from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Interested parties should check out the Education Service Center located at 1314 Hines Ave near the 1-35 and Splashtown exit.
