SAN JUAN COUNTY — Following a confrontation with a group of inmates, several San Juan County Jail officers were injured early Sunday morning including one having his eye socket fractured.
KOB reports that three officers were moving three inmates from a cleaning detail back to their cells when the inmates became aggressive.
Once the fight started, other inmates became unruly and also refused to go into their cells. After an hour, officers were able to get the situation under control. Thirty-two inmates were placed in segregation.
The other officers suffered minor injuries in the fight. Some inmates will face new charges.
