TUKWILA, Wash. — The DOC is investigating an incident where a corrections officer accidentally shot himself in the leg at a police shooting range.
He was among a group of community corrections officers who were doing their twice-annual firearms requalification at the Seattle Police Athletic Association shooting range, according to Komo News.
Somehow he accidentally discharged his firearm, shooting himself in the leg.
The officer was taken to the Harborview Medical Center, and is listed in stable condition.
DOC spokeswoman Norah West said the officer is experienced and had previously requalified without incident.
