MADISON, Wis. — More safety issues are springing up at the Dane County jail, after an inmate became trapped in his cell for an hour on Wednesday.
Madison.com reports that the top floors of the jail are almost 60 years ago and need to be replaced.
The mechanized door would not open on its own, and deputies could not shift it with physical force. They ended up removing a cover so the door could be opened.
The inmate has been moved to a different cell as a safety precaution.
