MONROE COUNTY, Pa. — A Monroe County man landed in hot water this week when he allegedly reported to prison with three bags of cocaine in his pants.

Monroe County detectives said Cory Mosley, 23 of Stroudsburg, formerly of Beechwood, N.J., was sentenced on Tuesday at the Monroe County Courthouse to five to 18 months in county jail after pleading guilty to selling drugs to an undercover officer in March.

When he was transported to Monroe County prison and issued his prison uniform, corrections officers found three bags of a powdery white substance in his street clothes, prosecutors allege in court papers.
Mosley told the corrections officers the substance was cocaine, and it later tested positive for the drug.

But prosecutors say he had an explanation.

“The defendant told the correctional officer that he has not used those pants in five to six months and did not know there was cocaine in them,” Monroe County Detective Joseph Coddington wrote in court documents leveling new drug charges against Mosley.

Mosley’s new charges include possession of a controlled substance or contraband by an inmate, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
