STARK COUNTY, Ohio — One of five inmates on the run after they busted through the first-floor window of an Ohio correctional facility has been recaptured.
Jaden Miller on Thursday was awaiting booking at the Stark County Jail days after his escape from the Stark County Regional Community Correction Center earlier this week, WOIO reported.
He was serving time for having weapons under a disability and improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle when he busted out of the Louisville facility with four other inmates between 8:45 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Police said Miller, 39-year-old Jason Drake, 36-year-old Joshua Bingham, 29-year-old Michael Fisher and 24-year-old Vincent Blanc fled after they managed to break out a window on the first floor of the correctional center, the Repository newspaper of Canton reported.
According to Stark County Court records, the men — most of them behind bars on drug charges — “used padlocks attached to their belts or padlocks in their socks to damage a window belonging to SRCCC, to facilitate their escape.”
Stark County Regional Community Corrections Center is described on its website as a “community-based adult correctional facility.” It serves as an alternative to prison for lower-level felons.
Authorities have called on the public to come forward with any information they may have on the case but urged them against approaching the inmates.
