PAYETTE, Idaho — An inmate who jumped a barbed-wire fence to make his escape is still making Facebook posts to taunt authorities – this time, from Mexico.
The Mirror reports that Nicholas Grove now claims that he lives in Cancun, and attempts to prove it with snapshots of himself relaxing on the beach.
“They’ll wait for me to pop up on the grid, but like I said Nick Grove doesn’t exist anymore,” he wrote in one social media post.
Payette Police Chief Mark Clark believes Grove will be captured sooner or later.
“It’s pretty unusual,” he said of the social media buzz. “Typically you don’t get taunted like that. But I anticipate at some time he’ll get picked up.”
Grove broke out of the Payette County Jail in August but climbing over a razor wire fence before jumping into a car park.
