Justin Taulbee asked if someone had turned him in, and didn’t believe that authorities were able to track him via the Facebook video he had posted

BREATHITT COUNTY, Ky. – A Breathitt County inmate who escaped during transport to the local courthouse was quickly apprehended after video of him showed up on Facebook.

WKYT reports that Justin Taulbee escaped Friday; authorities released footage of him running from the courthouse and across the street, hoping someone might be able to point them in the right direction.

But another video posted to Facebook on Monday gave police the clues they needed to track him down.

In the video, Taulbee identifies himself, and says he was released on Friday on an “R-O-R” bond, which he explains as being “released on your own f***ing recognizance.”

Authorities used the Facebook post to pinpoint Taulbee’s location and arrested him.

“He asked if someone had turned him in,” Kentucky State Police Trooper Joe Veeneman said. “The trooper advised the reason he was able to locate him was because of the video he had posted on Facebook. Once the trooper told him that, he didn’t believe it.”

Taulbee has been returned to the Breathitt County Jail and an escape charge has been added to his case.
