BEDFORD HEIGHTS, Ohio — Police say an inmate who escaped the Bedford Heights City Jail early Monday morning has been apprehended.
Chief Mike Marotta says the male inmate escaped through a side door at the jail around 6:30 a.m. after overpowering a female corrections officer.
The K-9 unit was unleashed and the inmate, whose identity has not been released, was captured in a wooded area behind the track at Heskett Middle School in Bedford Heights.
