VERNAL — A search is underway for two state inmates who escaped from the Uintah County Jail in Vernal early Wednesday morning.
Dallas Ephraim Derrick, 31, from Logan, and Jason Max Braham, 21, from the Ogden area, escaped after kicking out a dryer vent about 2 a.m., according to Uintah County Undersheriff John Laursen.
Jail staff discovered the escape a short time later and a search for the two men began, Laursen said.
