FAYETTE COUNTY, Ind. — Authorities are searching for two inmates that escaped through a hole in their cell wall.

According to Fox 59, Fayette County Jail staff noticed inmates Chadwick R. Heath and Michael D. Roberts were missing Saturday when performing a head count.

The inmates were captured on security camera making their escape through a 2x2 hole in the interior and exterior walls of their cell.

“They were able to remove the inside cement blocks,” Sheriff Joey Laughlin told the publication. “They then were able to take a piece of metal that they had taken from a box inside the block and break the outside brick out. And they’re in a block that’s at the rear of the jail and it would’ve been very hard to hear that pounding from anywhere else in the facility.”

Heath was in jail on drug charges. Roberts was facing burglary and theft charges.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Department is offering a cash reward for information that could lead to the inmates’ capture. Those with information can contact the department at 765-825-1110 Ext. 602
