NEW YORK — Police are still searching for the suspects who shot a state correctional officer and his wife on Nov. 27.

CO Henry Wright, 58, was shot five times in his abdomen when two armed men invaded his home, NY1 reported.

Officials told the news station that his wife, 52-year-old Sharon Floyd Wright, was shot in the shoulder, but was able to grab a hammer and hit a suspect in the head.

“We are shocked at the shooting of one of our most valued members and his wife. This level of violence, especially against a law enforcement member, cannot be tolerated,” NYSCOPBA President Michael Powers said in a news release.

The suspects are described as 20-something men wearing dark hoodies. One suspect is believed to have a teardrop face tattoo, according to NY1. Officials are also searching for a light-colored Hyundai Elantra. Police believe the car was used by at least one of the suspects.

Police said Floyd Wright was told by the suspects to “Let Rob know I was here,” according to CBS New York.

The officer is still in the hospital in critical condition. His wife has been released.

NYSCOPBA is offering a $25K reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspects, CBS New York reported.

“We will provide whatever support is necessary to the NYPD to catch the individuals responsible for this heinous act. It is our hope this reward encourages someone to come forward and provide information that leads to the arrest of these violent individuals,” Powers said. “Our thoughts are with Henry, his wife and entire family, and we wish them a healthy and speedy recovery.”
