PHILADELPHIA — First it was prison food, now it’s pets in prison.
This weekend, Philly’s historic Eastern State Penitentiary is hosting “Pets in Prison,” a two-day event that focuses on animals behind bars.
From noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, guests can learn about the role of animals throughout the prison’s history – from unwelcome creepy crawlies to Eastern State’s former mascot, Pep the Dog.
