TAMPA BAY, Fla. — Inmates in Tampa Bay, Fla., will no longer be given free underwear.
Instead, prisoners can purchase boxers or briefs for a small fee.
Sheriff Grady Judd said this is part of his plan to cut the budget, according to MyFoxTampaBay. He says no longer providing free underwear saves about $45,000 per year.
“We’re not going to let them pick the colors. We’ll give them any color they want as long as it’s white,” Judd said according to the article. “For those who want underwear, they can buy underwear. For those who don’t, they can let the breeze blow up one leg and down the other.”
He added the inmates won’t be able to choose their own colors.
