HUNLOCK CREEK, Pa. — Todd Bynon, corrections officer, at the State Correctional Institution at Retreat, Luzerne County, has been named Employee of the Quarter.
“Todd was selected because of his continued excellence in the performance of his duties as a corrections officer assigned to a specialized housing unit,” James McGrady, SCI Retreat superintendent said in making the announcement today. “He deals on a daily basis with those who have special needs and requires a certain level of knowledge, understanding and patience. He consistently performs his duties in a professional and conscientious manner. Todd’s efforts and skills help treatment staff identify, evaluate and intervene in issues before they become serious,” McGrady said.
Bynon began his career as a corrections officer trainee in June 1993 and was promoted to corrections officer in June 1994.
Bynon will receive a letter of recognition, a certificate for being selected as the employee of the quarter and will have his name displayed permanently on a plaque along with others who have been similarly recognized in the past. He also will receive a gift certificate from the employee’s association and will have use of a preferred parking space at the prison.
