OKLAHOMA CITY — A federal study of sexual assault in prisons and jails found inmates in Oklahoma are reporting more assaults than the national average.
The U.S. Department of Justice study included inmates in all 50 states — including those at two Oklahoma prisons and five county jails.
It found 2.1 percent of prison inmates and 1.5 percent of jail inmates nationally reported sexual assaults by other inmates.
