FARMINGTON, N.M. — Four inmates accused of attacking guards who were trying to break up a fight at a San Juan County jailhouse have been charged with multiple felonies.
The Daily Times reports that Arrison Parrish, Aaron Thomas, Alvin Martin and Rinalldo Chee appeared in court on Wednesday.
The charges for each include aggravated battery upon an officer, assisting in the assault of an officer and disarming an officer.
San Juan County Adult Detention Center administrator Tom Havel said Friday that officials are reviewing the incident.
Authorities say two inmates got into a fight Dec. 28. They say a third inmate allegedly began punching a guard who tried to intervene.
Three more inmates began attacking the guard. Farmington police and the county sheriff’s office were also called in to assist.
