BROOKLYN, NY – An off-duty New York corrections officer came to the rescue of an 18-year-oldwho was being beaten in front of his workplace Monday night.
The New York Daily News reports that the man was changing a tire in front of Monday Tire Shop when he was jumped by three men. They stabbed him in the back.
An off-duty corrections officer who happened to be in the area took out his weapon and fired a round into the air, bringing the attack to a stop.
The victim is hospitalized in stable condition.
Two believed to be connected with the attack were being questioned late Monday.
