POCOMOKE, Md. — A murder investigation is underway after a missing correctional officer was found dead Wednesday night.
WMDT.com reported that Wicomico County Correctional Officer Lesa White, 48, had been reported missing by family members on Monday. Police are looking for William Edward Strand, 52, a person of interest in the case. Strand already has a warrant out for his arrest in connection with a separate attempted murder case.
White’s body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy, and the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit is taking on the investigation.
