WYOMING, NY — A violent weekend at the Wyoming Correctional Facility ended with three officers injured on Saturday.

According to the Democrat And Chronicle, an inmate struck a corrections officer from behind, resulting in a concussion and knee injury. Another officer responded to the altercation and hurt his back while attempting to cuff the inmate.

A sergeant then escorting the inmate to the hospital slipped on the wet pavement after the inmate “stepped directly into” him, according to the Democrat. The sergeant hit his head, resulting in a seizure, concussion and fractured wrist.

All three officers have been treated and released from the hospital. Elsewhere in the facility, a fight broke out among four inmates, two of whom were reported to have makeshift weapons. It was the fourth such fight in four days.
