CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A district court judge has raised the bond for a man allegedly involved in the slaying of a corrections officer after a prosecutor said he could be charged with murder.
Trevor White had turned himself in late Monday night and is charged with being an accessory after the fact in the murder of Bias Easley on June 5.
Easley was killed at his home on Farmhurst Drive, and in court Tuesday a prosecutor said White and his brother, Raphael White had been on the run and that Trevor White could be charged later with murder.
After hearing that, the judge raised Trevor White’s bond from $50,000 to $500,000.
That brought some muted cheers from Easley’s fiancée and her family.
