ALBUQUERQUE, NM — An inmate at the Metropolitan Detention Center faces new charges after he attacked two corrections officers, one of whom got wedged in the inmate’s food port, according to deputies.
The two officers were putting inmate Troy Jim, 43, back in his cell after he had clogged his cell’s toilet. When they started removing his handcuffs, Jim tried to pull both of them through his cell’s food port, according to a criminal complaint filed in Metropolitan Court.
One of the officers got lodged in the food port, and the other used a Taser on Jim. The officer who got stuck injured her wrist, and the other one had bruises on her arms, the complaint states.
Jim was charged with two counts of battery on a peace officer and re-booked into MDC.
