MIAMI-DADE, Fla. — Police are on the lookout for a man who stabbed a Miami-Dade corrections officer in the neck, allegedly for not sharing a cigarette.
On January 5, a man walked up to Miami-Dade DOC officer Jorge Marbal in the parking lot of a park and asked for a cigarette and spare change, according to NBC Miami. When Marbal refused and attempted to step away, the unnamed man took out a sharp object and stabbed him in the neck.
The two struggled, and the attacker ran away on foot. Investigators have released a sketch of the suspect, and are asking for the community’s help in identifying him.

According to Local10, CO Marbal is currently resting at home.
