BRIDGEWATER, Mass. — Three corrections officers and a nurse were injured after an inmate attacked them Tuesday.
According to WCVB, the unnamed inmate charged at a nurse at Bridgewater State Hospital and knocked her to the ground.
He allegedly began kicking the nurse until she was able to break away and notify officers. One CO was hit in the face, the other two officers suffered injuries as well.
The officers sought their own medical treatment. The nurse was taken to the ER to receive treatment for injuries to her head and knees, The Enterprise reported.
State DOC spokesman Christopher Fallon said similar attacks are “fairly rare” at the hospital.
