CLINTON COUNTY, Iowa — A convicted felon is facing new charges after allegedly attacking a guard at the Clinton County Jail.
The female guard was hurt Wednesday morning in a room at the jail used as a law library.
Other officers heard a commotion in the library and rushed in to find the guard unconscious in the hallway outside. At the time only she and an inmate, James Douglas were in the room.
According to court records, Douglas told another officer “She laid her hands on me...you don’t do that.”
