MUSKEGON TOWNSHIP, MI — A group of Muskegon area corrections officers were allegedly attacked by a group of men outside a Muskegon Township bowling alley over the weekend, police said.
Muskegon Township Police Chief Ken Sanford said the 1:04 a.m. incident that occurred on Saturday, March 9 outside Northway Lanes, 1751 Evanston, is under investigation.
He declined to release additional information because it’s an open investigation, but could confirm the “victims involved” are Michigan Department of Corrections officers who work for the Earnest C. Brooks Correctional Facility, 2500 South Sheridan Drive.
The allegations are that the officers, who are part of a bowling league at Northway Lanes, were confronted by a group of men in the parking lot who began fighting with them. One of the allegations is that a corrections officer in the group was attacked by a man with a gun.
