JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — A female correctional officer with the Jefferson City Correctional Center is recovering from an attack.

ABC News reports that the officer is in fair condition and is hospitalized. She was assaulted by an inmate Monday night.

The names of the officer and inmate have not been released.
