LINCOLN, Neb. — A Nebraska corrections facility was damaged during a disturbance Tuesday.

WOWT.com reported that some furniture was broken and a window was cracked at Lincoln’s Diagnostic and Evaluation Center. The incident happened around 7 p.m. when officers confiscated food and homemade alcohol from some inmates. The inmates disabled the surveillance cameras during the incident, according to the report.

“The event was concluded fairly quickly,” corrections director Scott Frakes said. “The deployment of chemicals was not necessary and there were no injures to inmates or staff members. No other areas of the institution were impacted.”

Fourteen inmates were involved in the incident, which resulted in placing the facility on lockdown.
