Neb. inmate stabs CO at hospital, injures another

LINCOLN, Neb. — Lincoln police say two people are recovering from injuries after a Department Of Corrections inmate attacked two people at Bryan West.

The inmate, identified as 50 year old Robert Carter, was taken to the hospital just after 4 a.m. Thursday. Police say he was armed with a butter knife.

Officials say the inmate stabbed a Department of Corrections officer in the head and face. Police say the man also injured a Bryan Security Guard, who is also an off-duty officer. Both men have non life-threatening injures.
