Ohio corrections officer attacked with chair

No major injuries reported and the officer was able to restrain the inmate

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ohio — Surveillance video corroborated the story of a corrections officer who claimed tha an inmate attacked him with a chair.

The officer remains unnamed. While standing behind a podium, he told inmate Karl Anderson to keep his cell door closed. This prompted the inmate to approach him, grab a chair, and begin striking him about the torso and head, according to The Ingelligencer.

Anderson then dropped the chair and began to strike at the officer with his fists. The officer was able to wrestle Anderson to the ground and restrain him.

Investigators noted a bruise on the officer’s cheek, but no other injuries were reported.

Anderson was arraigned on the charge March 8, and bond was set at $7,500. He was originally convicted on drug possession.
