PORTLAND — A deputy was hospitalized after an inmate rushed a door and slammed it into him.
According to KGW.com, inmate Veikoso Moala rushed his own cell door as two deputies were opening it. One deputy fell to the floor and was later hospitalized for a back injury.
Moala then took the keys that were still in the door and threw them at a responding sergeant. The sergeant was treated for a puncture wound to his hand.
Moala was subdued with a TASER by responding units.
