NEW YORK — A federal prison guard stabbed in the eye by a former Osama bin Laden aide has returned to a New York court, hoping once again to see his attacker.
The guard, Louis Pepe, arrived in a wheelchair Tuesday to watch oral arguments by lawyers before a federal appeals court.
The government says Mamdouh Mahmud Salim was not required to attend his August 2010 sentencing hearing where he was ordered to serve life in prison.
