BEEVILLE — A corrections officer who had been with the Texas Department of Corrections for nearly five years collapsed and died Wednesday Morning.
Rashidat Subair collapsed while working in the central control area of the prison, according to the Victoria Advocate. She had been working with another officer, who called 911.
“It appears to be from natural causes, and foul play is not a factor,” said Jason Clark, the director of the Texas DOC public information office.
Clark also said that it appears Suabir had health concerns, but he would not elaborate. She was working an overtime shift at the time of her death, but Clark said exhaustion had nothing to do with her death.
