AMARILLO — An inmate serving a life sentence for murder now stands accused of assaulting several corrections officers.
According to My High Plains, an officer told the prisoner, who remains unnamed, to leave an area. The inmate refused, to the point of attacking the officer.
The officer then sprayed the inmate with chemicals to reassume control. More officers arrived for assistance, and eventually subdued the inmate.
Two officers were taken to the hospital, one for a possible facial fracture and the other for a possible broken hand.
