HAZELTON, W. Va. — The officer stabbed at USP Hazelton in Preston County is now at home recovering.
Officer Timothy Norris was stabbed in the bladder by an inmate with a homemade ice pick weapon, according to WDTV. He was admitted overnight to Ruby Memorial Hospital.
The inmate who attacked Officer Norris has not been identified, but is believed to be serving time for robbery as well as a pending murder charge.
The District Attorney has not yet decided what charges the inmate will face for the stabbing.
