PUNTA GORDA — A 28-year-old Punta Gorda woman was arrested Tuesday after she was found smuggling drugs into the Charlotte County Jail in a container in her vagina.
Casey Leigh Cranfield was originally arrested Monday for violation of probation and she was taken to the Charlotte County Jail.
On Tuesday, deputies learned that Cranfield had ingested Xanax in the jail after her arrest. Cranfield was strip searched and deputies located a 2.5 inch Tylenol pill bottle in her vagina.
