POUGHKEEPSIE, NY. — Two correctional officers from Green Haven are suing the state after they say nude photos were leaked among coworkers after the phone was confiscated.
The Poughkeepsie Journal reports that Jason Predmore and Nicole Sawitsky said they were humiliated after Predmore’s phone was confiscated during a surprise inspection. Correctional officers aren’t allowed to have phones inside the facility, and Predmore claims he forgot the phone in his jacket pocket.
He told the investigator that the device had nude photos of himself and Sawitsky having sex, and says the investigator told him he had nothing to worry about.
Predmore said that, days later, he heard coworkers talking about the photos. Sawitsky said the phone was supposed to be locked up in the captain’s office.
The Department of Corrections and Community Supervision declined to comment on the pending litigation.
