MIAMI-DADE, Fla. — A minor fender bender caused 80 inmates to miss their court dates on Friday.
Two corrections buses crashed into each other on the Dolphin Expressway, one bus rear-ending the other, according to the Miami Herald.
No one was hospitalized, though inmates were “medically reviewed,” according to a corrections spokesperson. One correctional officer complained of neck pain and is being examined at a nearby hospital.
The crash caused some confusion at the Richard E. Gerstein Justice Building when the inmates didn’t show, causing cases to be set and leaving “a lot of people just sort of waiting around,” said Miami lawyer Jackie Reizenstein.
