ALTONA, N.Y. — Six inmates and a corrections officer were injured when their van collided with a car in Altona, N.Y., Monday afternoon.
The inmates had been working at Clinton Correctional Facility and were returning to the Altona prison when the crash occurred.
The impact from the crash made the van roll onto its side. The inmates, officer, and driver of the other vehicle were taken to a nearby hospital.
There were no serious injuries.
