DALLAS, Texas — A Tulsa County Sheriff’s deputy shot at a high risk prisoner after the prisoner assaulted him in an airport bathroom during extradition.
KFOR reports that Brent James Taff was being extradited on an outstanding warrant for threatening a violent act against a Tulsa County District judge.
Taff was being extradited from Utah back to Oklahoma, accompanied by two Oklahoma deputies. While waiting for a connecting flight, Taff assaulted one of the deputies in a restroom, hitting him in the face and head. The deputy reached for his weapon and fired an unknown number of rounds at Taff.

Taff then ran out of the restroom, where the second deputy gave chase. Dallas Fort Worth Airport Police and TSA Officials assisted in restraining Taff and establishing control of the scene.
Taff was taken to a nearby Dallas hospital. His condition is unknown.
The deputy he assaulted suffered multiple injuries to the face and head and was being treated at a different local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
